Queen Communications LLC announces agreement with Z2 Systems

October 14, 2009

Queen Communications LLC (QC), a Charter Accredited Association Management Company, as designated by the American Society of Association Executives announced today their agreement with Z2 Systems to provide online Association Management Software (AMS) for Queen Communications clients. Garry Queen, Queen Communications Busines Manager and IT Director, said "This has been a long time coming. We have been very involved with the development of web based back-end software for 10 years now and finally have a rock solid solution for smaller clients. In the past, both the software vendors and online vendors have demanded premiums for their products or services that smaller associations could not afford. For the most part, that is largely true today. Our new vendor, Z2 Systems, offers premium services at reasonable prices. Pretty much, this gets Queen Communications out of the software development business so we can focus more on managing our association clients."

Association Management Software (AMS) has been around roughly 20 years. Originally, it was developed as a server side solution to managing associations. This particular solution requires high startup cost with yearly licensing agreements that can easily reach 100s of thousands of dollars. In addition to these startup costs, this type of solution requires a staff of highly trained IT professionals for on-going maintenance which further drives up the cost to the individual association.

Online AMS has a much lower startup cost and doesn't require extensive expertise to implement or maintain. However, purchasers need to be aware that annual fees for these services can easily exceed $30K. By thorough research, testing and having some IT expertise, it is relatively easy for an association to find the appropriate solution to keep their IT budget under control.
